We watched Withnail and I and wow, what a really fun movie. Seems really simple but the actors and one-liners make it. Two struggling actors go to the country in 1969. I mean, that's basically it, but Richard E. Grant is just so bombastic. Good times.

Afterwards I read The Red Tent. I can't remember if I'm supposed to hate it for being trite or like it for whatever reason, but I did. The sisterhood shit, plus of course jealousy at not having to do anything when bleeding. And of course being raised on the biblical stories, I liked it on that level. I enjoy fictionalized stories that I already sort of know.

I tried to watch Withnail last year, but wasn't able to get into it. I appreciated it but wasn't enjoying it.
