speaking of craziness

Because Reg hasn't been, I've been taking fish oil supplements. I'm of a generally cranky disposition, but I've noticed a newfound optimism the past couple of weeks. Anyway, just thought I'd throw that out there for all you anti-meds people.

sweet, im totally going to try that. i was just taking a piss at work and experienced a stab of rage for someone in my past that was so severe i was like holy living fuck i should be institionalized.

I'm happier when I eat curry. Which has tons of fish sauce in it. And spices which invite endorphines. It's honestly the best pick-me-up I know.

Ah, fish oil. I once went camping with a girl who had some of those, the liquidy kind. They're good for your skin so she thought she was supposed to pop them and rub them all over her body. She smelled like a salmon for like three days, and I was the one who got to share her car. It was pretty hilariously gross.

Haha. That's awesome.

i need to find one that has both omega 3 and omega 6 oils in it.. so far, i just keep finding the omega 3 ones, and since my daily vitamin already has that in it...

Those supplements always make my burps smell like fish.

[identity profile] herbaliser.livejournal.com 2005-05-19 06:32 pm (UTC)(link)
that just happened to me once, thank god

i take em' too, but I don't know if it's just a placebo effect combined with the fact that winter has ended, either.

I am currently talking Vitamin E, B-12, B-100, a multivitamin, ginseng and ginkgo biloba. My energy level has doubled. Maybe I'll throw in fish oil.

[identity profile] herbaliser.livejournal.com 2005-05-19 06:48 pm (UTC)(link)
don't multivitamins have the first three items?

[identity profile] elgorgo.livejournal.com 2005-05-19 06:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Probably, but I wanted a higher concentration of certain vitamins.

Multivitamins are kind of crappy. They don't dissolve well in your stomach because of the glue. Getting them in liquid form and adding them to water is the best, but much more expensive.

[identity profile] xkissikx.livejournal.com 2005-05-19 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
for the concentration you get from dissolved vitamins, is it that much more expensive? i am pretty certain that only about 5% of pressed vitamins are abosorbed by the body, whereas almost 100% of dissolved ones are. you could take one packet and use not even a quarter of it and still get five times what you would with multi-vitamins. what about multi-vitamins in gel caps? those would dissolve/absorb well and be cost effective...

sorry to dork out...

[identity profile] elgorgo.livejournal.com 2005-05-19 07:48 pm (UTC)(link)
you are probably right. i need to check the hippie vitamin outlet and check their prices and see if there really is a noticable difference.

[identity profile] daeverra.livejournal.com 2005-05-19 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
how much are you taking? I'd be interested.

It's used for scarring too, just like Vit E oil, and I always thought they were pretty damn similar anyway.

Sorry we didn't come over, we had to do, um... what you did. And, ah... Thanks for the idea.

DHEAs. Should try that, indeed.
