The “slouch” position revealed a reduction in spinal disk height, signifying a high rate of wear and tear on the lowest two spinal levels.
It's not the slouching, but the leaning back that's good for you.

Slouching for six hours really makes my back hurt, but lounging semi-upright on the sofa is no trouble at all. Well, except then my butt falls asleep.

well, yes. But I get people acting all weird when I sit leaning back like that and they call it slouching.

Yeah, I think that's too strict (or broad?) interpretation of "slouching".
