it's a hacked toshiba sd 3990 [plays all regions]. the manual actually claims it doesn't play DVR-avi, just CDR-avi, but it lied.

Nice. I used to have a Philips DVP-642, but I traded up to a modded xbox so I wouldn't have to burn stuff anymore.
