kill the cable and the FM dial

I have to highly recommend not listening to the radio in order not to become completely sick and tired of pop music. Or anything that's played 20 times a day. I don't know! I just listen to what I like!

My threshold for "clearchannel popular tastes" is about once a week. For my own, it depends. I can get stuck in a rut and listen to one song three times a day, but then I don't want to hear it the rest of the week. This is still apparently a lot more stringent than anecdotal evidence suggests most people's thresholds are.

Every now and then I'll discover a song and go through this terrible phase of infatuation, only to find out that everyone else is sick of it.

[livejournal.com profile] perich: I'm loving this song right now, guys. It's by a band called - get this - 'Franz Ferdinand.' Like the Archduke of Austria, get it? Anyhow, the song's called "Take Me Out," and it's ... guys? Guys? Hello?
