Because of my science fiction background, I thought that people who didn't eat animal products were called "VAY-gens." Boy, did the first real one I met get mad about that.

it's a grievous mispronunciation but sometime you have to roll with it. like [livejournal.com profile] swaz says, english is for suckers.
