thing is I need warm colors for my hair otherwise I look even more pale and wan. i guess I could do a coffee color.

Coffee was actually going to be my non-silly response.
I like browns, I think reds are a bit over-done but the reds do look good on you so if you kept your current color you'd be doing fine.
On the other hand, I had purple hair several times, I like it... and it would look nice on you I think. I think if you're under 30 you owe it to yourself to have "differently colored hair" when you can still pull it off... you have a life time to have normal colored hair later.
