yeah the vile thing is that mostly they just act the same way abroad as they do at home. So they stand out a lot more. A lot of people are unhappy with Prague b/c of the "americanization" of it. So yeah, I really related to the movie on that level, trying to find unspoiled places. Although my experience was more concerned with trying to find authenticism in native countries and such. a cute example: in rural St. Ignatius (where The Mission was filmed) in northern Argentina, we stayed in a hostel run by an elderly German woman and her daughter. (I had to hold back on the Nazi jokes and all.)
