- I know at least one person on this list has never and would like to make their own bread. If that looks like too much of a time commitment, there's also no-knead bread and quick soda bread. (I made the last one last night, except with all-purpose flour instead of half white/half wheat. And a couple other substitutions and it was still great.) My next goal is to make my own English Muffins.
- Reg played the new Secret Machines album for me last night. I was like "It sounds like they've been listening to a lot of 1968 music there." Which was good of course. Their "krautrock" stuff before was good, but as usual I prefer psychedelia. (We saw them open for Interpol 3 years ago.)
- I finally have indeed started Infinite Jest. I was sort of scared off by the fact that it has a reader's guide, but so far I'm enjoying the hell out of it. My morning commute and afternoon commute both divide up into natural stopping points, so I'm not getting super-absorbed or too bored. I should finish before the end of the month at the rate I'm going.
